#Trending2014 : God's Version of His Dreams for Thina

Time flies so fast. 2014 is about to bid goodbye, while 2015 will say hi.

If 2013 was my Bibo Year and 2012 was my Hyped Year.

I'm very happy to say (err. I mean to write) that 2014's a mixture of bold and light colors in my life, thus I'll name my year at the conclusion part.

So, sit back and relax. Join me in reading this fun ride! :D

Serendipity

Serendipity means finding out unexpectedly the things that you don’t sought for. Ok, I had these serendipitous events for the past 2 weekends. First, was last Saturday when I attended the Inner Healing stream from KCON 2011. It’s was so unbelievable but I accepted it’s reality at that moment, when finally I heard a wonderful speaker by the name of Ilsa Reyes talking about Inner treasures, child and forgiveness. I mean the whole talk was superb but it was really a perfect moment for me to feel the tremendous love of God through these anointed people. Before, I prayed to heaven to send me people who could talk about it, and then unpredictably He did. Woah, such an avalanche of blessings from God!

Next one, yesterday I attended an Advent recollection for PICC Feast servants. Guess who’s the speaker? He’s the author of a book Free Love, True Love - Fr. Joel Jason. That book is an enlightening book about finding and working for a true love. He’s a very humorous and light hearted speaker. During his talk, I would always gasped, “ahhhh.” He reopened and reminded me again about the real essence of Christmas.

How can I thank the Lord for His generosity and kindness? I can by just Thanking, accepting and reminding myself that He loves me more than I do for him.
Last one, I saw this handsome man unexpectedly again from the Feast. He is the one whom I unexpectedly gave my warmth smile few months ago (good thing he sent back his because I was just familiarizing him at that time). But I almost forget about him, then I recalled him again yesterday. I’m just glad to see him again. :)

Now, I can confirm that this is the life from glory to glory to glory until eternity! J

The lost and found wedding ring

Every couple has their own love story. But with Jun and Shiela Flores, whose been married for 17 years- their story speaks clearly about reconciliation and forgiveness.

In the year, 1991, Jun met Shiela in a canteen in Pangasinan. Shiela was just a newly Pharmacist graduate, yet she managed their family’s canteen at the age of 21 years old. During that time, Jun was a 25-year old agent, normally eats at that canteen, with his friends. Prior to that, he already heard a beautiful cashier who works there. His curiosity grew and he had proven himself that Shiela was indeed beautiful.

On the otherhand, she was accomadating to every customer there and one of them was Jun. There were moments when they would talk about anything. Since, he was involved in a Faith community, he’d often share his faith to Shiela and she’d listen to him. Eventually, though there were struggles along knowing each other, they fell inlove.

As he pursued her, he needed to end his relationship with his current girlfriend. After a week of his breakup, he invited Shiela in one of the beautiful beaches in Solo. Jun assured her of the sincerity of his intentions, though there was fear in Shiela’s heart as she was nursing her broken heart from a previous relationship, too- both compromised to enter in a relationship.

Their 4 year relationship wasn’t smooth after all. When Jun transferred into another province, they decided to have a weekend and long distance relationship. They put their efforts to work out that way, until they decided to get married in the year, 1994.

As a newly wed couple, they were clueless about marriage. Jun kept on working, while Shiela decided to quit on her job to become a plain housewife. He already knows some household chores, while she learns it the hard way, since she was pampered as a kid and grown up.

As the days went by, Shiela became worried about her husband’s nature of work. Since, he’s an agent- he was always outside and giving few hours of his time for his family. After a year of marriage, she gave to their eldest son named, Hans. She settled on becoming a full time mom and after 2 years, she gave birth to a baby girl named, Hana. Problem arised as their Hans often became sick. He was also diagnosed with a febrile convulsion and the hospital became his 2nd home. Jun doubled his effort in his job to sustain the financial needs of his family. Good thing, Hans remained normal, despite of. However, on the same year when Hana was born- Shiela often turned jealous of her husband’s work and friends. She thought that these were her enemies in receiving his time and attention.

One night, they had an intense argument, out of Shiela’s rage, she forcefully got Jun’s ring from his finger and threw it and got lost nowhere. She told him that it was just a decoration- that their marriage wasn’t working anymore. Jun was surprised with his wife’s revelation and on the first half he reacted on a passive way, but later on he kept grudges to her. The ring that she threw away meant a lot for him, because it was his mother’s gift to them before their wedding. He thought that she disrespected his mom and their vows to each other.
As a result, there were days when she won’t meet his standards in housekeeping and he would verbally abuse her. Their marriage was on the rocks.
He decided to bore himself into sports especially in tennis. He became addict on it and he’d often buy tennis’ paraphernalia’s. He focused his hatred on sports. He also had a secret fear of dying early, because his father died at the age of 58. And Shiela didn’t know all his deep fears and frustrations.

On the year 2003, Jun attended The Feast in Camp Aguinaldo. He invited Shiela to attend and she agreed. They both realized that they forgot the Lord. They weekly attended the Feast to restore what was lost. But oftentimes, they failed. They would see themselves returning to their old ways and backsliding. Jun struggled to fight for his anger to his wife- whenever he sees a couple wearing a wedding ring.

But they didn’t give up- their family kept on attending the Feast PICC. This year, they decided to attend a couples retreat, in which they encountered so many hurdles before it finally happened. Part of the program was exchanging of letter and gifts. Shiela mulled over the gift, she’d give to her husband until she remembered that 15 years ago, she got his ring, threw it in the air and after the argument, she saw it somewhere and decided to hid it from him. She uttered to herself that it’s time to return what was lost to his beloved. Thus, she excitedly put it into a calling card box together with another gift. She also made a letter for him saying, “Sorry for what she’s done to him.” Meanwhile, Jun was on the plane and pondering too about the letter he’d give to his wife. He made a wonderful poem for her.

They didn’t know that God was moving in intertwining their reconciliation.

A couple retreat was about to happen and the exchanging of letter and gifts finally happened. Shiela gave her gift to Jun, he can’t believe what he saw before his eyes- his long lost wedding ring, tarnished yet still valuable. Maybe, valuable is an understatement. Both of them felt that things were falling into place. God listened to each of their woes. He cried upon receiving the ring. She was oblivious of her husband’s hidden grudges for her, until that day. She lately realized that while she moved on, he hanged on the ring- he hanged on his devoted love for her.
Now, both of them are happy. Jun is serving in Secretariat, while Shiela still discerns if she’ll join Media Ministry or Secretariat also. They devote their time in sharing their love story on their caring group. Their youngest daughter, Hale is part of Awesome ministry. While there 2 siblings are still discerning on what ministry to join. But they believe that they could decide in HIS time. They’re communicating and disclosing everything to each other and they put God first as the center of their relationship.

Heroes

Heroes can be everywhere. They can be beside you, just around the corner, farthest place or in front of you. They deserve a great applaud or a salute as they silently fulfill the desires of their hearts, do it for the greater good, and roll their sleeves up in keeping us safe and better, thus we must learn to pay it forward. Playing hero and taking a role in an adventure is what you and me wants to live. There’s still time to restore the hero in us. We just have to be inspired with people who do their best with their relationship with their family, respective jobs and other people. I have set here 7 fictional or real examples that regularly or often we meet.

I woke up earlier today and said my morning prayer. After doing some of my routines; I felt hungry, so I went outside to buy bread. The woman in front of me greeted me with a genuine smile almost wanted to say, ‘Good morning.’ But I interrupted and said, ‘Can I buy 10 pieces of bread?’ She unhurriedly gets some bread and put it on the small brown paper bag. She quickly does it, as she sensed the hunger painted on my face. I gave her the money, took the bread, and she still has a smile on her face.

It made my day, as I went home eating hot bread with coffee. I thank the baker, as she did her task enthusiastically.

When, I went home. My mom prepared the table together with the plate, cup and utensils so I can eat immediately. I know my mom- she thinks advanced. There may be times, when I disregard her and gets mad at me. But as we’re growing together, I feel her deep love for me always.

I want to tell her, ‘Thank you. I love you. You’re the best.’ (Please do it, too if she’s beside you.)

Next, I was riding a jeepney- I was in a little hurry. I noticed him carefully as he looks at his passengers. He drives with a normal speed, because passengers’ safety is what he’s after. Once the rider gives more than enough, he would give the exact amount of change, unless he forgets.

I admired this jeepney driver, because without him, I can’t attend my work on time.

As I was riding the jeepney, I can’t help to wonder about these great people from the past. They were the people who honed our abilities to be who we are right now. They were our inspiration and guidance. Aside from teaching the subjects, they also taught us good moral conduct.

They were always in front of us, so that we could see the future awaiting for us. The power of their words, created a beautiful reality on our minds. We’re grateful for these teachers.

I always wanted to become a writer, so I looked upon the people who could help me to become one.

I was looking at her from afar, as her mind works again for another story to write on. She was unmoved and just paying attention on the big billboard. Rest assured, she was describing every details embossed there- nonetheless from small to big one. She had an inquisitive mind, and sometimes she’d bore herself in introspection. I just allow her- because that’s how she communicates her inner world into the vast Universe.

Thanks for being a good writer. You don’t know how you bless the world with your words.

In order for me to become a good writer, I need to read and read and read and read. That’s it!
That’s what I always do, whether it’s news, simple short and current events. Part of the current events is our heroes overseas who said to be the new heroes of our generation. They lay golden eggs for the benefit of their families and country. The fruit of their sweat, tears and loneliness would pave way in alleviating their family’s economic status.

I give my salute to our Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW). They may be far away but their great help are widely known.

On the otherhand, there is also a businessman, who helps people to become better as him. He’s getting a good profit, because he shows a lively interest with his customers. He made them feel important and great. The product or service that he’s selling meets his buyer’s expectations. He values people more than money that’s why it flows abundantly through him. He doesn’t keep it to himself, instead he shared it to his family, ministry and in need.

God knows when to give him double and triple for his generosity and kindness.

Heroes have a name- they are the baker, mother/parents, jeepney driver, teacher, writer, OFW, and Business man. But these are only few of so many heroes living out there. Ask yourself, ‘Am I included with these 7?’ ‘How do I become a hero?’

Create a story about a hero in you. It’s you who can unleash it, anyhow. We’re connected to each other and as we do our job excellently- we’re fulfilling our purpose. The world needs us, so let’s move- HEROES!

May God bless you.

Saturday Move and groove(08.13.11)

Last Saturday, Makati Feast held their 2nd Sabado Move and Groove. I attended Makati Feast twice last Thursday, and my sister was asking me to buy a ticket for the Saturday party(I hesitated at first).

Saturday finally set in and I was preparing the clothes to wear, it's a must to wear something related to the theme, but I decided to wear a casual clothes cause I wanted to dance.

When I got in the Dance studio of Makati Square, I was alone, but then Sis. Jeck told me that there are PICC feasters, so it loosen up my awkward feelings. I was also waiting for Uncle John and Aunt Meda, but they were late cause they went to He Cares Anniversary. Good thing, I saw Sis. Jo and her brother, so we chatted for awhile, until Sis. Mara and Jeck hosted the groovy night.

I was excited at that time and I know everyone did also.

So we had the dinner then after eating, we danced the night out with the music of 60’s to contemporary. We danced for the glory of the Lord, and it was a wholesome party. Everyone was sweating out, so it seemed like an exercise. I was glad to be leading them at times, I was a born dancer, according to my highschool teacher and I started joining dance clubs from highschool to College.

I was also surprised to see my sister, Pao, there, wearing 'pambahay' clothes. lol

It was a night to remember, because I was able to meet new friends, too.

Get lost with the music

God is madly inlove with me. He would make things that could make me happy and awaken my senses. Yesterday, during the receiving of communion, kuya Panggo, our Alto saxophonist had a solo part for the song-which I can’t remember the title. Oh my, it’s so obvious that he was passionate on what he was doing and I’m sure I wasn’t the only who was spellbound with his music. He knows his purpose. It was awakening and soothing to the ears and soul. I wanted to stand up and give him a clap but instead of doing so. I just let myself absorbed his euphony.
